Finance AI Intern (f/m/d)

Most companies find out about supplier insolvencies, cyber attacks, factory fires or floods that affect their supply chain when it's already a crisis. Prewave exists to change that. We're an AI-native company giving BMW Group, Hilti and Lufthansa real-time visibility into supply chain risks before they become headlines.  We're looking for a Finance AI Intern who takes ownership of building thins that actually get used from day one. Someone who uses AI as a default part of how they work - and knows when to trust their own judgment.  You'll work at the intersection of Finance, RevOps, and Operations, automating the manual work that slows smart teams down. That means shipping internal tools, AI agents, and system integrations that replace copy-paste workflows with clean, reliable pipelines. You will work on:  • Automation at the core: Eliminate recurring manual processes like reconciliations, data syncing across Salesforce, our ERP and BI, monthly reporting packs, and invoice and expense workflows. • AI agents with real impact: Build end-to-end agents that handle repetitive Finance and Operations tasks, from data extraction and validation to system updates and Slack or email notifications. • Internal apps you own: Spec, build, and deploy lightweight dashboards and tools that replace fragmented spreadsheets and legacy tooling, start to finish. • System integrations that stick: Connect Salesforce, accounting, HRIS, and BI via APIs so data flows automatically, no manual handoffs. • Direct stakeholder partnership: Work alongside Finance and Operations teams to scope real problems, prototype fast, and measure hours saved. You own outcomes, not just tickets. You are the right fit if you: • Technical foundation: Strong coding ability in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript, with working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL, and Git. Degree in CS, Software Engineering, or Information Systems preferred; a non-technical degree is fine if your portfolio demonstrates equivalent ability. • AI-native builder: Hands-on experience shipping projects with AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) and at least one workflow automation platform (n8n, Zapier, or Make). Familiarity with MCP servers or agent frameworks is a strong plus. • Domain bridge: Curious about finance operations and able to translate fluently between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Prior finance exposure is not required, but you should be excited to learn billing, procurement, and close processes from the inside. • Delivery mindset: A track record of shipping working v1s in days, not perfect v3s in quarters. Be ready to share two or three projects you built end-to-end and walk us through what you'd do differently. • Logistics: Fluent in English; valid work permit for Austria; based in or commutable to Vienna. German is a plus. Nice to have: • Exposure to Salesforce or other CRM / ERP systems. • Experience with finance or operations workflows: billing, procurement, payroll, or month-end close. If you have a side project or GitHub repo where you automated something that used to be done manually, lead with that. Things move fast here and the brief won't always be complete, but that's what makes the work interesting.
